Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, 86

Private funeral services will be held for Mr. Vincent J. Monguso, 86, of Manahawkin, NJ, who passed away on February 2, 2021 at Hackensack Meridian Medical Center, Stafford Township.

Mr. Monguso was born and raised in the Down Neck/Ironbond  Section of Newark before moving to Manahawkin 21 years ago.  He was employed as an Electrician Assistant for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, Newark for 18 years before retiring 21 years ago. 

Vinnie was 86 years young.  He and his wife Concetta (Chet) would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2021.  They were a loving couple that had a lot in common, especially their love for each other.

He is survived by his beloved wife Concetta (nee DePalma) Monguso; his loving daughters Michelle Ronnie of Atlantic Highlands, NJ and Sandra Mancuso of Basking Ridge, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Christian, Nicole and Ryan; and Nancy Jayne the mother of his children.  He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his great-great niece, Riley Rose, all of whom he loved so dearly.  

Vinnie loved life, his family and friends, especially his sister-in-law Grace DePalma who thought of him as a brother.

Vinnie is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Mary (nee Hunter) Monguso, his two sisters Carmella Verderese and Josephine Polivka, and his three brothers Anthony, Nicholas and William Monguso.

I believe that in the act of losing, there is something to be found.  In the act of letting go, there is something to be grasped.  In the act of saying “Goodbye”, there is a “Hello” to be heard.  I also believe living with loss is about beginnings as well as endings:  In the midst of darkness, there can be a great light.  At the bottom of despair, there can appear a great hope, and deep within loneliness, there can dwell a great love.

Vinnie will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
