One of Nutley sons, Mr. Vincent LoCurcio, III, 64, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, January 13, from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service celebrated on Thursday, January 14 at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield at 11:45 a.m., Pastor Pam Bakal officiating.
Vincent was born in Passaic, NJ and was a lifelong Nutley resident. He was the owner of the Nutley Park ShopRite and the Belleville ShopRite. Vincent earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwood University, Midland, Michigan.
Vincent is known throughout the community for his love of family, patriotism, philanthropy, obligation to civic duty and lover of his beloved hometown Nutley. Throughout his years with the ShopRite of Nutley and Belleville, he proved a leader and an inspiration to all. He followed the family tradition of community service and charity work. Vincent was Past-Recipient of the John V. Kelly Humanitarian Award and the Nutley Jaycees Businessman of the Year Award in 2001. He continued to employ residents who may otherwise face challenges getting hired. He was Grand Marshall of the Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade in 1992.
Vincent served on a variety of Boards including Wakefern Food Corporation, and Past-President of the Nutley Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Nutley Family Service Bureau and served as Chairman of their Charity Ball and was a member of their Fundraising Committee. Vincent was also a member of the Nutley Italian American Club. He was the Past-Board member of the former Nutley Chapter of the American Red Cross, and served as the Co-Chair of Nutley’s 100th Anniversary Committee, as well as a contributor to the commemorative centennial book. Early on, Vincent also participated in the Nutley Little Theatre.
He was a man of many beautiful qualities. His spontaneity, dry sense of humor and warm welcoming demeanor was open to all.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Carol (nee Schmidt) LoCurcio; his devoted mother Antoinette (nee Stefanelli) LoCurcio; his loving children Michelle Yasso and her husband Michael, Joseph Frusteri and his wife Crissy, Luke LoCurcio and his wife Jodi; his dear siblings Anne Bator and her husband Denis, Jeanne Clark and her husband Rich, Carole Casale and her husband Nick; and his six cherished grandchildren Nathaniel, Ella, Dante, Gerard, Joseph and Vincent LoCurcio IV.
Vincent is predeceased by his father Vincent LoCurcio, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Nutley Family Service Bureau, 169 Chestnut Street, Nutley, NJ 07110.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic occupancy limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects in a timely fashion and exit in order to allow others the opportunity to enter the funeral home. Visitors are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
