Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, 93

Rose L. (nee Zappia) Garguillo, 93, of the Ironbound section of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Ave on Saturday, September 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover on Monday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m.

Rose was born in Calabria, Italy before emigrating to the Ironbound Section of Newark as a very young child. Rose was a loving homemaker to her family.

She is survived by her beloved children Carol Napolitano and Steven Garguillo and his wife Susan; her loving grandchildren John Napolitano and his wife Renee and James Napolitano; her cherished great-grandchildren Johnny, Alexis, Mia and Amelia; her dear sister-in-laws Marie Zappia and Diane Finan and also her caring brother-in-law Ronald Garguillo.

Rose is predeceased by her husband James Garguillo (1993) , her parents Dominick and Maria (nee Ponteriero) Zappia, her sisters Rosalie Lordi and Josephine Barone and her brothers Frank and Mike Zappia.
