Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 94

Mrs. Rosa (nee Romano) Avallone, 94, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Sunday, August 9 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.   The funeral will be conducted on Monday, August 10 at 9:30 a.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 a.m.  The entombment will be at Glendale Chapel Mausoleum, Bloomfield.

Mrs. Avallone was born on September 28, 1925 in the small, hillside town of San Massimo, Campobasso in Italy to the parents of Annibale Romano and Filomena Farano.  She married the love of her life, Pasquale Avallone in 1943 and together they emigrated to America in 1960 with their sons Francesco and Annibale.  Rosa worked at Marshal Electronics in Newark from 1960 until the early 70‘s before retiring.  She resided in Newark before moving to Nutley in 1967.  Mrs. Avallone was a former member of the Holy Family Rosary Society.

She is survived by her beloved sons Frank Avallone and his wife Rina, and Bill Avallone and his wife Anna; her loving sisters Bambina Gaglio, Angelina Pepe, and Cristina Micone; her cherished grandchildren Pasquale and his wife Gabrielle, Vincenzo and his wife Danielle, Antonio and his wife Victoria, Rosanna, and Cristina and her husband Roger; and her precious great-grandchildren Dante, Stella, and Matteo.  She is also survived by her many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews in Italy and in the United States.

Mrs. Avallone is predeceased by her husband Pasquale Avallone (2014), her parents Annibale and Filomena Romano, her brothers Alfredo and Armando Romano, and her sister Carmela Puglisi.
