Ramon Lijo
Beloved Father, Grandfather and Brother, 90
Mr. Ramon Lijo, 90, of Mt. Arlington, NJ, formerly of Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Mt. Arlington Senior Living surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, December 27 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, December 28 at 8:15 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
Mr. Lijo was born in La Puebla del Caraminal, Coruna, Spain and emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1953. He resided in Belleville for the past 55 years before moving to Mt. Arlington in 2015. He was a laborer, foreman and superintendant for Sylvestri Construction, and Spinello Construction companies for many years before retiring.
He is survived by his beloved children Ramon J. Lijo and his wife Denise, and Gardenia (Deni) Brooman; his cherished grandchildren Justin Lijo and his wife Lindsay, Jaime Lijo and his wife Jennifer, David Brooman, Jr., Ricky Brooman and his wife Ali, Kyle Brooman and Luke Brooman; and also his precious great-grandchildren Jaelynn, Jordana, and Nathan Lijo, and Joseph Ray Brooman. He is also survived by his two younger brothers Edmundo and Miguel Lijo in Spain.
Mr. Lijo is predeceased by his wife Frances (nee Garcia) Lijo (2014), and his parents Ricardo and Carmen (nee Garcia) Lijo.
