Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, 84

Mrs. Phyllis (nee Paul) De Gennaro, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, March 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted on Friday, March 18 from the funeral home. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 9:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover.

Mrs. De Gennaro was born in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ and has resided in Bloomfield since 1966.  She was employed as a Bookkeeper for Paul’s Appliances, Newark for over fifty years. Mrs. De Gennaro was an avid bowler who loved Atlantic City and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. De Gennaro is survived by her beloved children Cheryl Osetto and her husband Anthony, and Greg De Gennaro and his wife Corinne; her loving grandchildren Danine Olivera, Michael De Gennaro, Officer A.J. Osetto, Frank Paul De Gennaro and Lexi Smith; her cherished great grandchildren Jake, Cooper, Luca, Anastasia, and Colton; and her dear sister-in-law Maryann Paul.  She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. De Gennaro is predeceased by her husband Frank Paul De Gennaro (January 3, 2022); her parents Alfred and Mildred (nee Chiarieri) Paul; and her siblings Dominick Paul, Marie Centra and her husband Joseph.
