Beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother, 63

Mirta D. Mendez, 63, of Nutley, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue, on Tuesday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. There will be a funeral service celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  The cremation will be held privately.

Mrs. Mendez was born in Paterson, New Jersey and resided there her whole life before moving to Nutley, seven years ago. Mirta was employed as a teacher’s aide with 4 C’S of Passaic County for many years before retiring.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. It was her passion to care for other people.  

She is survived by her devoted son Steven Pinero; her beloved mother Marina Ellis; her loving twin sister Aida Nieves, her sisters Nancy Nieves and Migdalia Rivera, her brothers Pascual Nieves, Sabian Nieves, and Alex Nieves; her cherished grandchildren Steven Pinero, Tyler Ramos, and Malaya Santiago. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
