Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister, 82

Mrs. MaryJo (nee Curcio) Sarrecchia, 82, of Cedar Grove, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Lucy’s Church, 118 – 7th Avenue, Newark on Thursday, July 27 at 12:00 p.m.  The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. 

MaryJo was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Cedar Grove for many years.  She was a talented hairdresser at her family-owned salon, (Salon 170) for several years.  MaryJo later became a Teacher’s Aide at Bloomfield Vocational Tech; a job she adored before retiring. 

MaryJo, known as “MJ” by many, will be missed by everyone!  She had such a dynamic personality and fun way about her.  She made everyone around her laugh and smile.  MaryJo told the best stories.  She often would leave people’s stomachs hurting from laughing so hard!  She cared deeply for people and did anything for anyone.  Her fashion sense was like no other!  She loved her family beyond words.  Her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren want to say to her what she always said to them just before hanging up the phone: “love you more”. 

She is survived by her beloved children Debra Harrison and her husband Craig, and Michele Sarrecchia and formal husband Daniel DiAntonio; her cherished grandchildren Joette, Danielle, Donna, Nicole, Craig II and Joy; her precious great-grandchildren Jordan, Julia, Ryan, Jase, Dylan, Nicholas and Hailey; and her loving brother Louis Curcio and his wife Angela.  She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

MaryJo is predeceased by her husband Joseph Sarrecchia (2003), her parents Louis & Filomena (nee Liloia) Curcio; and her sister Joyce Infantozzi.
