Beloved Father and Grandfather, 87

Mr. Mario Basile, 87, of Belleville, NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston.   There will be a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover on Wednesday, November 24 at 11:15 a.m. 

Mr. Basile was born in L’Aquila, Abruzzi, Italy and emigrated to Westfield, NJ before moving to Belleville 54 years ago.  For many years he was the owner of Olympic Jr. Clothing Contractors, Newark.  Mr. Basile served in the Italian Army.

He is survived by his beloved son Dominick Basile, and his precious grandchildren Francesca and Alexia.

Mr. Basile is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Velia (nee Cacchione) Basile (September 24, 2021), his brothers Antonio and Enzo Basile, and his sister Maria Basile.
