Beloved Mother, Sister and Aunt, 98
Mrs. Marie A. (nee Tufo) DiCosta, 98, of Belleville, NJ, formerly of the Ironbound Section (Down Neck) of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Saturday, June 20 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Due to the current health regulations, visitation is limited to 50 visitors at one time. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley on Monday, June 22 at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Marie was born in Newark, NJ and resided in the Ironbound Section (Down Neck) before moving to Belleville 63 years ago. She was employed for many years by Charms in Bloomfield. Marie worked in the Candy Section wrapping 24K Chocolate Bars before retiring to become a homemaker to her loving family. She also worked at the Polls during Elections. Marie enjoyed going to Atlantic City, loved to dance, and was a great cook.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Camille DiCosta; her dear nieces and nephews Salvatore “Sal” Tufo and his wife Roseann, Michael “Mike” Tufo and his wife Doris, Ken Tufo and his wife Angela, Janis Bolton, Gary Tufo, Joseph “Joe” DiCosta and his wife Arlene, Mila DeCosta, and her loving Godchild Marylou Snyder. She is also survived by her many loving great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, cousins and her many close friends who were her second family.
She is predeceased by her husband Vincent DiCosta (1991), her parents Salvatore and Carmela (nee Galione) Tufo, and her siblings Carmine Tufo, Carrie Greco, Orlando “Frisco” Tufo, John Tufo, Teresa “Terri” Tufo, and Salvatore “Sam” Tufo.
Marie’s generosity, her sense of humor and witty personality will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
