 Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother

Mrs. Madeline E. (nee Porcelli) Verlingo, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, January 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, January 20 at 8:45 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 120 Prospect Street, Nutley at 10:00 a.m.  The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield.

Mrs. Verlingo was born in Newark New Jersey before moving to Nutley where she raised her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for and with her children, especially Monday night’s coffee and dessert. She also loved sewing and made numerous dresses for family and friends.   

She is survived by her beloved children Mary Jo Melillo, Susan Verlingo, Nancy Fassett and her husband Wayne, Janet Gargano and her husband Frank; her dearest grandchildren Christina, Michael, Richard; and also her cherished great-grandchildren Dana, Vinny, and Leandro      

Mrs. Verlingo is predeceased by her husband Fred Verlingo (2003), her son-in-law Gerald, and her grandson Gerard.
