Josephine “Jo” Francis Rotondo,

Beloved Mother and Grandmother, 97

Private funeral services will be held for Josephine “Jo” (nee Abbate) Rotondo, 97, of Belleville, NJ who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2021 with her loving children by her side.

Born in Newark, NJ, Jo resided in Belleville most of her life before moving to Spring Village at Pocono, Assisted Living in June, 2018.  She loved living close to her daughter Phyllis and her husband Dave in Mount Pocono, PA, and she came to love the country setting where she lived out the remainder of her life. Josephine thought highly of the assisted living’s accommodations, care, and staff. 

While at Spring Village at Pocono she was very active in the center’s activities, especially Bingo, as well as having been an energetic member in the Belleville Senior’s Club with her husband, Pat Rotondo, who passed in February, 2014.  Jo enjoyed their bus trips to Atlantic City and organized many activities for fellow club members.  Pat and Jo enjoyed some traveling, including a memorable trip across the Midwest, Hawaii and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Jo was a loving, thoughtful and genuine person who loved her family with all of her heart.  

She is survived by her beloved children Pat Rotondo and his finance` Crystal Jordan (whom she became very close to along with her daughter Samara), and Phyllis Rafferty and her husband Dave; her cherished grandson Matthew whom she was very proud of; and her loving daughter-in-law Donna Willett and her former daughter-in-law Valerie Rotondo. 

Josephine is predeceased by husband Patrick Rotondo (2014), her son Rexford Willett (1994), and her brother, Frank Abbate (2016).
