Beloved Brother, Brother-in-law and Uncle, 68
Mr. Joseph P. Mee, 68, of Celebration, FL, formerly of Newark and Nutley, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 11, 2020. There will be a funeral service celebrated at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, July 21at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The cremation will be held privately.
Joseph was born on June 2, 1952 in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Eva Lee (nee Smith) Mee. He was a 1970 graduate of Essex Catholic High School in Newark, and a 1974 graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After graduating college, he worked for many years at Bankers Trust in New York until his retirement in 2000.
In 1987 he married Susan Sallee` and moved to Celebration, FL spending many happy years together until her death in 2008. Joseph was a member of Corpus Christi RC Church in Celebration where he sang with the choir for several years. Joe also volunteered at an Orlando food bank, joined a Disney walking group, and was a member of a Civil War Roundtable Association. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge on many subjects, especially historical facts. Joe was an avid Yankee fan, and loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his brother John Mee of Nutley, and his two sisters Lorry Montano and her husband Joe of Stroudsburg, PA, and Phyllis Shepard and her husband Jim of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Deborah and Carl Montano, and Sandra Stella and Keith Shepard and also his great-nieces and great-nephews Elycia Montano and Andrew and Christopher Stella. He is also survived by his many loving friends.
