Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, 91  

Mrs. Josefa “Pepa” (nee Martinez) Fuentes, 91, of East Orange, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be on Monday, March 28 at the Biondi Funeral Home, 540 Franklin Avenue, Nutley, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, March 29 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 63 Franklin St, Belleville at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington.

Josefa was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico and emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1955 before moving to East Orange in 1974. She cherished the time she spent with her beautiful family and extended family who she loved to cook for.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years Domingo Fuentes; her loving children Maria Velazquez, Wanda Weinfeldt and her husband David, Carlos Fuentes and his wife Tatiana, Carmen Betz and her husband Les, Lourdes Kingston and her husband Kevin, and Zulma Hernandez and her husband Rolando; her dear twenty four grandchildren; and her cherished eighteen great grandchildren.

Josefa is predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Maria Elena (nee Figueroa) Martinez; her son Domingo Fuentes, Jr; and her son-in-law Rolando Velazquez.
