John James Hamaid, III
Beloved Son, Brother, and Uncle, 40
John James Hamaid, III, 40, of Bloomfield, NJ, went to heaven on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Monday, January 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9 at 9:00 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m. The interment will be at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Avenue, Jersey City.
John was born on September 16, 1983 in Jersey City, NJ where he resided for most of his life before moving to Bloomfield in 2007. He graduated in 2002 from St. Mary’s High School in Jersey City.
John had many passions and hobbies that made him who he was. All of which will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Who doesn’t love to eat pizza on Fridays? “Friday Night Delight” was a must for John. He also loved to cook. He made his very special chicken wraps and unselfishly shared the recipe on social media!
Since he was a child, John loved going to the Jersey shore and the Boardwalk, summer after summer; staying at the beach houses rented by his family. He also loved going bowling, playing pool and Uno!
John enjoyed watching sports and going to games. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees, New York Giants and the New Jersey Devils. He had an enormous love for Monday night RAW, WWE SmackDown and going to WrestleMania. Some of his favorite wrestlers include Hulk Hogan, John Cena, the Rock, Kevin Nash and D-Generation X!
He loved everything related to music, both listening and going to concerts. John listened to all types of music but his favorite artists were Lincoln Park, Nickleback, The Beach Boys and Bon Jovi. Other pastimes he enjoyed were sitcoms and going to the movies, He never saw a film he didn’t love; both old and new! John had a photographic memory and he knew every line to every movie and TV show. He could crack a joke verbatim from a comedy skit. He could remember infinitesimal details to all the events that he attended!
He loved to write poetry, song lyrics and was never without a pen and a notepad to capture his thoughts. Some of which were published in the Best Poets & Poems 2011.
When we think about John and all of his passions, they will remind family and friends of John’s love for some of the simplest but most important things in life.
He is survived by his father John Hamaid, Jr., his sisters, Jennifer Obiedzinski and her husband Kevin and Dana Fano and her husband Chris; his six nieces and nephews, Kevin Jr, Nicholas, Brandon, Juliana, Stella, and Donovan; and also survived by his late sister’s fiancée Nicholas Cacio and too numerous to mention loving family members and friends.
John is predeceased by his mother Donna (nee Gullace) Hamaid (2007), his sister Jaimie Rose Hamaid on September 9, 2023, his grandmothers Rose Gullace (2020) and Margaret Hamaid (1997).
