James C. Lafoon

Beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather, 82

 

Mr. James C. Lafoon,82, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, October 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, October 28 at 9:15 a.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley at 10:30 a.m.  The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington with military honors.

 

Mr. Lafoon was born in New York, NY and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ before residing in Nutley for the past 50 years.  He was a salesman for Multi Tech, Clifton, for 35 years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Lafoon served honorably in the United States Army.  He was an avid runner, racquetball player and soccer fan.  Mr. Lafoon was a Nutley Parks & Recreation Site Supervisor, and an Umpire/Referee for soccer, softball, basketball and volleyball.  He also served as a high school soccer referee and softball umpire.  Mr. Lafoon was a Town driver for taking patients to medical appointments.  He was also a member of the Nutley Third Half Club. 

  

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Antoinette (nee Cammarota) Lafoon; his devoted twin sons Lonnie Lafoon and his wife Donna, and Jeffrey Lafoon; his loving sister Elizabeth Donegan; and his cherished grandchildren Giuliana and Alessandra.  He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Lafoon is predeceased by his daughter Lori Lafoon, and his parents Clinton “Jack” and Helen (nee Karney) Laffoon.
