Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 78

Mrs. Iris M. (nee Blancovitch) Rios, 78, of Clifton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Paterson. Visitation will be at the New Beginnings Cathedral, 15 Grove Street, Passaic on Thursday, December 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Visitation will resume from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  The interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Queens, NY on Friday, December 10 at 11:45 a.m.

Mrs. Rios was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and emigrated to New York City in 1962, moving to Queens, NY where she resided for many years. She then moved   to Newark, NJ where she resided until the passing of her husband Maximino Rios in 2008, and has resided in Clifton, NJ for the past 12 years.  Mrs. Rios was a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God, Newark, and Co-Director for the Bible Institute with the Assemblies of God.

She is survived by her beloved children Aileen Torres and her husband Luis, Iris Walters and her husband Dr. David, Nora Pineiro and her husband Robert, Obed Rios and his wife Nerci, Jairo Rios and his wife Laura, Dina Velez and her husband Richard, Nathaniel Rios and his wife Linda, and Ariel Rios and his wife Yolanda; her loving siblings Ruben, Hector, Orlando, Elsie, and Gilberto Blancovitch; her 26 cherished grandchildren; and her precious great-grandson.

Mrs. Rios is predeceased by her husband Maximino Rios, her son Maxi Rios, and her parents Miguel and Maria Ines (nee Gonzalez) Blancovitch.
