Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 89

Helen Frances (nee Bruno) Bertuzzi, 89, of Ocean Township, N.J. passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Helen is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alfred, and her three children, Diane Lampinen (husband Erik), Janet Metzdorf (husband Robert), and Joseph Bertuzzi.  Helen is also survived by her four grandchildren, Erin Thomas (husband Allen), Kate Lampinen, Wyatt and Dylan Metzdorf, and three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Evelyn and Grace. 

Helen was born the youngest of 13 children in Nutley, N.J.  It was on Saint Mary’s Place in Nutley where she raised her family and resided for most of her life. This was also the site of many Bruno family get-togethers and celebrations.  For over 25 years Helen worked at Clara Maass Hospital. After retiring, she and Al moved to the Jersey Shore where you could often find them strolling on the beach, cooking Italian food, and listening to music.  Helen loved a trip to Atlantic City or simply playing a game of rummy with Al.  A great entertainer, Helen loved spending time with family and friends.  She will be remembered for her quick sense of humor, her unbounded generosity and her fighting spirit. 

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley, NJ.
