Beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, 93

Mr. Giovanni Capra, 93, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 22 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, August 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted on Friday, August 27 at 8:45 a.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Valentine’s Church, 125 North Spring Street, Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m.  The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.

Giovanni was born in San Paolo Matese, Campobasso, Italy and emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1967 before moving to Bloomfield 47 years ago.  He was employed as a Maintenance Worker for AT&T, Kearny for 26 years before retiring in 1995. Giovanni loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his beloved children Giulio Capra and his wife Dotty, Aladino Capra and his wife Assunta, Tony Capra and his wife Virginia, Nancy Harbison and her husband Bob, and John Capra; his loving siblings Rosa Capra, and Antonio Capra and his wife Nelda; his cherished grandchildren Patrick and his fiance` Cathy, John, Dino, Natalina, Anthony and his wife Lisa, Nicole and her husband Bobby, John Michael, Robert, and Matthew; and his precious great-granddaughter Isabella.

Giovanni is predeceased by his wife Natalina (nee Liberatore) Capra (1990), his parents Nicolangelo and Chiara (nee Immatteo) Capra, his sister Adelina Capra and his brothers Giulio and Francesco Capra.
