Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, 73
George J. DeMaio, 73, of Toms River, formerly of South Plainfield entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Visitation will be held at the Biondi Funeral Home, 540 Franklin Ave, on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a graveside service celebrated at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.
George was born in Newark, and resided in South Plainfield for twenty three years before moving to Toms River in 2002. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany from 1965 to 1968. He was employed by the Hertz Company as a mechanic for twenty years and then was employed by ARC Transportation of Brick, NJ where he was voted Employee of the Month and Year, before retiring after ten years of employment.
George is survived by his beloved wife of fifty two years Joanne (nee Petrucci) DeMaio, his loving children Pamela Ventimiglia and her husband Jamie, David DeMaio and his wife Melissa, and Matthew DeMaio and his wife Kaylene; his dear brother Samuel DeMaio and his cherished grandchildren Amanda, Brianna, Ashley, Julianna, and Thomas.
He is predeceased by his dear sister Betty LaManna, and his dear brother Ronald DeMaio.
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic and occupancy limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects and then immediately exit in order to allow others the opportunity to enter the building. Visitors are also required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
