Beloved Father and Grandfather, 79

Mr. Gelsomino Della Fera, 79, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, December 18 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 63 Franklin Street, Belleville on Saturday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m.  The entombment will be at Glendale Chapel Mausoleum, Bloomfield.

Mr. Della Fera was born in Calabritto, Avellino, Italy and emigrated to Bloomfield in 1972.  He was employed by the Essex County Parks Department as a carpenter for 30 years before retiring in 2003.  Mr. Della Fera was a member of the Bloomfield Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his beloved children Gerardo Della Fera, Gerardina Carnemolla and her husband Antonio, Antoinette Della Fera, and Michael Bucy; his cherished grandchildren Gerard Della Fera, Nicolette Della Fera, Alexa Della Fera, Antonio Carnemolla, Christofer Carnemolla, Spencer Spatola and her fiance` Peter Castro.  Mr. Della Fera is also survived by his two former wives Maria (nee Spatola) Della Fera, and Maria Elena De La Lanza; and his former daughter-in-law Marisa (nee Nicolette) Trentacost.

Mr. Della Fera is predeceased by his parents Gerardino and Gerardina (nee Battista) Delle Fera, and his brother Donato Della Fera.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and occupancy limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects and then immediately exit in order to allow others the opportunity to enter the funeral home. Visitors are also required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
