Korean War Veteran
Mr. Dominick N. Mondo, 85, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, July 15 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, July 16 at 8:15 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield with military honors.
Dominick was born in Glen Ridge, NJ and resided in Bloomfield for many years. He was a truck driver for Big M & V Ann Trucking Co., Newark for most of his life. Dominick later was employed as a Supervisor for American Wear, East Orange for many years before retiring. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Dominick was an avid cat lover, especially to his favorites Mutt & Jeff.
He is survived by his loving longtime companion Elaine Columbus; his beloved daughter Darlene Murano and her husband Frank; his loving sister Josephine Pannorfi; his cherished grandchildren Frankie and his wife Nicole, Christopher and his finance` Jaclyn, and Michael and his wife Brittany; and his precious great-grandchildren Anthony, Vincent, Mason, and his little princess-to-be. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Dominick is predeceased by his parents Louis and Elizabeth (nee Antonglia) Mondo, his brothers Jimmy Mondo, Louis Mondo and Salvatore Mondo, and his sister Marie Ferranti.
