Beloved Wife, Mother and Daughter, 57

Private funeral services were held for Mrs. Christine C. (nee Chirchello) Speer, 57, of Nutley, NJ, formerly of Irvington, who passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.  

Born at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey, Christine grew up in Irvington before settling in Nutley with her husband Joseph of 22 years.  In total, Christine and Joseph shared a cherished relationship of 36 years.  She found immense fulfillment in her roles as a devoted wife and mother, often found in the kitchen cooking for her loved ones or embarking on adventures around Nutley with her daughter Arianna.

For 26 years, Christine worked at Time Warner Cable in Palisades Park, excelling as a customer service and sales representative.  However, it was her two-year tenure as a teacher's aide at Shaler Academy in Ridgefield, working with autistic children, that truly fulfilled her.  Sadly, her time in this role was cut short by her second cancer diagnosis.

Despite battling cancer for two decades, Christine faced each day with grace, shielding many from the extent of her illness.  Her final struggle took place at the same hospital in which she was born.

Christine was survived by, and deeply devoted to, her husband Joseph, her daughter Arianna, and her parents Don and Rose Ann (nee Possumato) Chirchello.  

She is predeceased by her mother-in-law Caroline with whom she shared a special bond, a mother-daughter relationship.

Christine's memory will endure in the hearts of her beloved husband Joseph and beloved daughter Arianna.
