Beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather, 70

Mr. Chris Mastakas, 70, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Monday, March 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Vincent United Methodist Church, 100 St. Vincent’s Place, Nutley on Tuesday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m., Pastor David LeDuc officiating.  The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave, Bloomfield.

Mr. Mastakas was born in Newark, NJ and has resided in Nutley since 1964.  He was a proud graduate of Nutley High School in 1969.  Mr. Mastakas was the owner of Residential Roofing in Nutley for 42 years before his retirement in 2013.

Chris was passionate about the outdoors, an avid skier, enjoyed going on hikes and biking with the family.  He was an enthusiastic musician and loved playing in various local bands throughout his life.  Most of all he was happiest surrounded by his family, who he cherished more than anything.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Lucy (nee Oblak) Mastakas; his devoted children Jennifer Fowles and her husband Tom, Danielle Christmann and her husband Brian, and Michael Mastakas and his wife Alicia; his loving sister Sophie Caprio and her husband Bruce; his cherished grandchildren Megan, Owen, Erin, and Evan Fowles, and Morgan, Katie, and Savanna Christmann. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
