Retired Verizon Systems Engineer, 71

Carolyn DeCastro, 71, of Belleville, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Gates Manor, Montclair.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 120 Prospect Street, Nutley, on Wednesday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m.  The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. 

Carolyn was born in Newark and resided in Belleville for over 20 years.  She was a systems engineer for Verizon in northern New Jersey for 42 years before retiring. Carolyn loved life and lived life accordingly. She loved socializing with cousins and friends, trips to Atlantic City, vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, De, entertaining during football season at home, Go Giants, and above all truly enjoyed holiday cooking and spending time with her much loved dog, ALI

She is survived by her longtime loving companion Kay Dougherty; her loving Godson Charles Collucci; her loving brother Don DeCastro, and her many loving cousins.

Carolyn is predeceased by her brother Pat DeCastro.
