Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, 97
Mr. Carmine Laurino, 97, of the Ironbound Section of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Mr. Laurino was born in his home in the Ironbound Section of Newark where he resided for 96 years before moving to his shore house in Brick on June 4th of this year. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Laurino was a Supervisor for Federal Bronze Products, Newark for 37 years before retiring at the age of 65. He was a lifelong parishioner, member of the Holy Name Society, and usher at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Newark. Mr. Laurino was a volunteer at the East Orange and Lyons V.A. Medical Center. He was a proud member of the Italian-American War Veterans, Post #8 in Newark. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his beloved children Adele Queli and her husband Larry, and Debbie Auriemma and her husband Arthur; his daughter-in-law Leslie Laurino; his cherished grandchildren Jaclyn, Joseph Jr., and Leanne; his dear step-grandchildren Larry, Nicole, Lauren and Ryan; and his precious great-grandchildren Larry Donato, Lucia, and Adryana. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Laurino is predeceased by his wife Angelina (nee Albanese) Laurino (2009), his son Joseph Laurino (2014), his parents Frank and Adele (nee Catena) Laurino, and his siblings Sam, Louie, Leonard (Lanny), Peter, Rose, Mary, Clara, Elizabeth, Jenny ; and his dear nephew Vincent (Red) who was like a brother to him.
Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, October 29 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, October 30 at 9:15 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 259 Oliver Street, Newark at 10:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington with naval military honors.
