Beloved Mother, Sister and Grandmother, 84

Mrs. Carmella (nee Cozzolino) Turano, 84, of Belleville, NJ passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley on Thursday, December 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, December 3 at 9:15 a.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street, Belleville at 10:30 a.m.  The entombment will be at Laurel Grove Chapel Mausoleum, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa.

Mrs. Turano was born in Corigliano, Calabro, Italy, and emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1965 before moving to Belleville in 1971.  She was a seamstress during the mid-sixties in the Newark area.  Mrs. Turano was a devout parishioner of St. Peter’s Church, Belleville for many years, and was an avid gardener her whole life.

She is survived by her beloved children Laura Assunta Turano, Michael Turano, and Italia Cifelli and her husband Anthony; her loving siblings Emelia, Vincenzo, George, Angelina and Nanette; her cherished grandchildren Victoria and Andrea Cifelli, and Michael Turano, Jr.; and also her many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Turano is predeceased by her husband Giuliano Turano (2020), and her siblings Eugeno, Luisa and Luigi.
