Beloved Sister in Law, Aunt, Great Aunt and Cousin, 96
Carmella “Millie” Sessa, 96, of Belleville, formerly of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, August 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 3 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Lucy’s Church, 118 – 7th Avenue, Newark, at 10:45 a.m. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.
Millie was born and raised in Newark, NJ before moving to Belleville in 1984. She was previously employed as a factory worker for over twenty years for the Thomas J. Edison Factory, West Orange before continuing her career as a clerk for the L&S Drugstore, Belleville for twenty years before retiring. Millie was famous for her love of baking homemade Cream puffs, Italian knot cookies, and Taralles. She was a beloved longtime parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church. Millie loved to support the Veterans in any way she could, and loved to watch her favorite movie the “Sound of Music.”
She is survived by her beloved sisters-in-law Theresa Sessa and Grace Piegaro; her loving nephew Anthony Sessa and his wife Danielle Marette Sessa; her caring great-niece Emily Marette; and her dear cousins Rose Mejas and Lilianna Risto. She is also survived by her loving furry companion Jack the dog.
Millie is predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Rafaela Sessa; her siblings Private Frank Sessa, Ignazio “Duke “Sessa, and Rita Sessa; her loving nephew Frankie Sessa; and many dear cousins and friends.
