Anthony was born in Newark, NJ and was a graduate of East Side High School in the Ironbound section of Newark.  He married the love of his life Annamarie and resided in Belleville for the past 58 years where they raised their family.    Anthony proudly served in the United States Army.  He was a Newark Police Officer for 28 years before retiring in 1992.   He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.   He loved the beach and the sun.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family at the shore.

Anthony was a devout catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s Church in Belleville for many years.  He loved his parish and dedicated his time to the church.  Anthony was instrumental in restoring the statues after the 1975 fire in St. Peter’s Church.  His devotion was to the Blessed Mother.  He would always place a red rose every Saturday by her statue.

Anthony is survived by his beloved children Donna, Gina and Anthony; his four cherished grandchildren; and his brother.

Anthony is predeceased by his wife of 52 years AnnaMarie (nee Juliano) DeVito, and his parents Anthony and Gilda (nee Coppola) DeVito.
