Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, 93
Anne G. (nee Gerino) Steele, 93, of Margate, FL, formerly of Belleville, NJ and Manahawkin, NJ passed away on October 1, 2021. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, October 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, October 8 at 9:15 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
Anne was born and raised in Belleville, NJ then moved to Manahawkin, NJ where she resided before moving to Margate, FL. She was employed as a N.J. Transit Bus and Railroad Supervisor, for N.J. Transit, Newark for many years before retiring. Anne was an active member of many organizations including Tea Party Patriots of Southern NJ, Melodeers Choral Group, Belleville Woman’s Club, and American Legion Post 105. She was a volunteer at Ken’s Kitchen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a chaperone for Sabre Cadets, and loved to bowl and play bingo in her free time.
Anne is survived by her beloved children, Denise Pietrzak and her husband Len, Kenneth Spera and his wife Vera, Peter Spera and his wife Debbie, and Anne Pekrol; her dear step-children, Vinny Steele, Karen Ferranti and her husband Louis, Glenn Steele, Kelly Parente and her husband Joe, and Kim Macanka and her husband Bobby; her cherished grandchildren, Carolyn and her husband Jim, Cheryln and her husband Nelxon, Kenneth and his wife Jaelyn, Brian and his wife Sonia, Steven and his wife Danielle, Michele and her husband Chris, Christopher and his wife Heather, Danielle and her partner Susan, Marc and his wife Ashley, Eric and his wife Meredith, and Anthony and his girlfriend Kerry; her loving step-grandchildren, Phillip, Vinny, Debra, Keith, Hank, Stephanie, Joey, and Olivia; her treasured great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Alexavier, Damien, James, Adriana, Roman, Steven, Lucas, Reagan, Daisy, and Kinley; and also her many caring nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear sister, Dorothy Gerino; and best friends Phyllis Manna, Linda Goldstein, and Connie Grlormini to cherish her memory.
Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry “Hank” Steele; her son-in-law, Brian Pekrol; her granddaughter, Jennifer; her step-grandson, Paul; her dear siblings Mary, Josephine, Janet, and Frances; and her best friend, Ann Kiszkiel.
