Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt, 94

Angela P. (nee Petruzzino) Malgeri, 94, of Ocean Township, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave, Nutley, at 10:30 a.m. The entombment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Union.

Angela was born in Newark’s first ward, and was raised in the Vailsburg section. She was a proud graduate of West Side High School, Class of 1945. Angela moved to Union in 1974 where she resided for nineteen years before moving to Ocean Township in 1993.

Angela was an active woman who loved working, holding several jobs including positions as a secretary at the Lowenstein Law firm in Newark, and the Newark Star Ledger. Besides raising her three sons, she was also a teacher’s aide in Alexander Street School in the Vailsburg section of Newark. Later she worked in the Registrar’s office at Seton Hall University, South Orange and Kelly Girl Charting services, Union. Angela’s last position was as a salesperson for Bloomingdales at the Mall at Short Hills before retiring. While caring for her three granddaughters, Angela also enjoyed working the polls on Election Day in Ocean Township.

 She is survived by her beloved sons Dominick J. Malgeri and his former wife Carmelina, Victor M. Malgeri, Jr., and Albert F. Malgeri; her cherished granddaughters Elena Rose, Angela Maria, and Dominique Josephine. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Angela is predeceased by her beloved husband Victor Malgeri; her parents Albert and Maria (nee Lemongiello) Petruzzino; her brother Joseph Petruzzino and her sister Virginia Tafro.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Angela's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic occupancy limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects in a timely fashion and exit in order to allow others the opportunity to enter the funeral home. Visitors are also required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
