Mr. Andrzej Wegrzynski, 75, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 120 Prospect Street, Nutley on Thursday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. with military honors.
Mr. Wegrzynski was born in Wroclaw, Poland and emigrated to New York City in January of 1966 before moving to Nutley in 1976. He was employed by Spice Chain in Avenel as a Quality Assurance Officer for many years before retiring. Mr. Wegrzynski served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was the proud recipient of the National Defense Service Medal; two Overseas Bars; the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars; the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; the Army Commendation Medal; the Good Conduct Medal; the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm; and Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device.
Mr. Wegrzynski and his wife Bogda would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 29, 2022.
He is survived by his wife Bogda B. (nee Gierczak) Wegrzynski; his devoted daughter Jessica Barone and her husband Matthew; his cherished grandson Joshua; his sister Lucyna Ekkert and her husband Jerzy; nieces Anna Orman and Ivona Kolodziej: and his nephews Leszek Wegrzynski and Michal Ekkert.
