Great-Great-Grandmother, 97

Mrs. Alfonsina (nee Meo) Masucci, 97 of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Sunday, March 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, March 27 at 9:15 a.m.  There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley at 10:30 a.m.  The entombment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union.

Mrs. Masucci was born in Volturara Irpina, Avellino, Italy and emigrated to Newark, NJ in 1958 where she resided before moving to Bloomfield in 1976.  She loved sewing, crocheting and cooking.  The center of her world was her loving and beautiful family.  Mrs. Masucci enjoyed gardening until the age of 95. 

She is survived by her beloved children Lucia Vazzano and her husband Richard, Michele Schmidt, Anthony Masucci, Alfonso Masucci and his wife Janine, Michael Masucci and his wife Pam, and Lisa Masucci; her eight cherished grandchildren, twelve precious great-grandchildren and her two beautiful great-great-grandchildren.   

Mrs. Masucci is predeceased by her husband Pompilio Masucci (2012), her parents Domenico and Michelina (nee Mara) Meo, her brother Michael Meo, and her sisters Lucia Vitale and Ida DeMeo.
