Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, 79

Mrs. Phyllis Kunz-Casale, 79, of Toms River, formerly of Nutley, passed away October 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, October 11 at 8:30a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30a.m. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 10 from 4:00 - 8:00p.m. 

Mrs. Phyllis Kunz-Casales' life work was in nursing; in hospitals, doctors' offices, schools, teaching and administration. She was a member of the SMHSofN alumni association and was an active member of the Holy Family Parish in Nutley, NJ. Mrs. Phyllis Kunz-Casale attended East Orange High School where she was a member of the acapella choir. She graduated from St. Michael’s School of Nursing in 1958 and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Jersey City State College. Mrs. Phyllis Kunz-Casale was a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed playing mah jong, traveling, creating photo albums and spending time with her family. After moving to Holiday City in Berkley Township, NJ, she was an active member of the Holiday City/Silver Ridge Park Italian-American Club.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 21 years, Rocco J. Casale, her children, Donna (nee Kunz) Brock and her husband Jason, Diane (nee Kunz) Morgan and her husband Marc, Laurie (nee Kunz) Amendola and her husband Glenn, Richard Kunz and his wife Samantha; her cherished grandchildren Courtney (nee Weischedel) Maltese and her husband Joseph, Jarrod, Bryan Weischedel, Chelsea (nee Morgan) Yavorski and her husband Matthew, Tyler Morgan, Brielle, Nicolas Amendola, Austin, Sydney Kunz and her 5 great-grandchildren; her step-children Rocco Casale and his wife Arlene, Diane (nee Casale) Delaney, Joanne (nee Casale) Giardelli and her husband Larry, Robert Casale and his wife Paula; her 9 step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; her beloved siblings Marie (nee Vasta) Grieco and her husband William, Anthony, JoAnn Vasta, Carl Vasta as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Phyllis Kunz-Casale is predeceased by her first husband, A. Richard Kunz.
