Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 93

Mrs. Mary G. (nee Rainone) Fernicola, 93, of Nutley, NJ, formerly of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, March 8 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, March 9 at 8:30 a.m.  There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.    

Mrs. Fernicola was born in Newark, NJ where she resided until moving to Nutley three years ago.  She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Crossing Guards from the Newark Police Academy, and was stationed at the corner of Heller Parkway and Mt. Prospect Avenue for many years before retiring.  

She is survived by her beloved children Bernadette Santoriello and her husband Robert, Sr., and Carmen Fernicola, Jr. and his wife Renee; her cherished grandchildren Robert Santoriello, Jr. and his wife Rosa, Anthony Santoriello and his wife Rebecca Interbartolo, Nicole Fernicola, Matthew Fernicola and Mark Fernicola; and also her precious great-grandchildren Nicholas Santoriello, Alessandra Santoriello, Justin Santoriello, Thomas Santoriello and Adriana Santoriello.

Mrs. Fernicola is predeceased by her husband Carmen Fernicola , Sr. (1998), her parents Costanzo and Maria (nee Cardillo) Rainone, and her siblings Jeanette LiPuma, Rae Vitale, Joseph Rainone, Julia Rainone and Anna DeJesso.
