Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 90
Mrs. Marie (nee Valdes) Armenti, 90, of the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, September 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Thursday, September 27 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Mrs. Armenti was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to Newark in 1929. She was a lifelong resident of the Ironbound Section of Newark. Mrs. Armenti was a bilingual secretary for the John Duffy Fuel Co, Ironbound Section of Newark, for over 30 years before retiring. She was an active member of the St. Vincent Martyr Parish Choir, Madison, and also a choir member of St. Stephen’s Church, Newark. Mrs. Armenti was a teacher’s assistant in the Newark elementary school system.. She also enjoyed writing.
She is survived by her beloved children Lawrence A. Armenti, M.D., Robert J. Armenti and his wife Marion, Lorraine Armenti, Esq. (Scandale) and her husband Frank, John W. Armenti, and Gary A. Armenti and his wife Connie; her loving sister Julia Popp; her 16 cherished grandchildren and 17 precious great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Armenti is predeceased by her husband Sisto Armenti, and her brother August Valdes.
