Mr. John Catallo, 97, of Long Branch, formerly of Newark passed away on Friday August 18 2017.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave, Spring Lake NJ on Tuesday August 22 at 10:30 A.M.  The entombment will follow at St. Catharine’s Chapel Mausoleum, Sea Girt with military honors.

Mr. Catallo was born in Italy and resided in Newark for many years before moving to Long Branch many years ago.  He was a supervisor for the Water Department for the city of Newark for many years before retiring.  Mr. Catallo was a member of the Long Branch Elks and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was involved in the invasion of France.

Mr. Catallo is survived by his beloved children Kathleen Rossi and her husband Joseph and Alfred Faiella and his wife Randy.  He is also survived by his seven loving grandchildren and his eight cherished great grandchildren.  Mr. Catallo is predeceased by his wife Lena (nee Costabile) Catallo.
