Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 95

Mrs. Jean “Jennie” (nee Casale) Avena, 95, of the Silver Lake section of Belleville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, June 20 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted on Friday, June 21 at 9:15 a.m.  There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belleville at 10:30 a.m.  The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.    

Jennie was born in Newark, NJ and was a lifelong resident of the Silver Lake section of Belleville.  She was a loving homemaker to her family.  Jennie loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City.

She is survived by her beloved children, Michael Avena, Maria Avena and Cindy Cerami; her loving brother Daniel Casale and his wife Lonnie; her cherished grandchildren Christa Marie Jasinski and her husband Paul, Marialisa Montgomery and her husband Dennis, and Rocco Cerami and his wife Stephanie; and her pride and joy, her great-grandchildren Mina and Theo.  She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.   

Mrs. Avena is predeceased by her husband, Michael Avena, her sisters Mary Meloia, Emily Tramutola and Antoinette Russoniello, and her brother Joseph Casale.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
