Mr. Gerard F. Melillo, 30, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at University Hospital of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.   The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Thursday, December 14 at 8:45 a.m.  There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Nutley at 10:00 a.m. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 13 from 4:00 –8:00 p.m.   

Gerard was born in Belleville, NJ  and was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield.  He was an online receptionist for Nutley Park Shop Rite for the past 12 years.  Gerard was a 2005 graduate of Bloomfield High School and earned a degree in Communications/Broadcasting in 2013 from Seton Hall University.     

He is survived by his beloved parents Gerald and Mary Jo (nee Verlingo) Melillo; his devoted brother Michael Melillo; his loving maternal grandmother Madeline Verlingo, and his loving paternal grandparents Gerard and Lena Melillo.

Gerard is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Fred Verlingo.
