Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 89

Mrs. Dolores “Dee” (nee Salvato) Zarro, 89, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, July 16 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, July 17 at 9:15 a.m.  There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Lucy's Church, Newark at 10:30 a.m.  The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.    For directions or to send online condolences, please visit our website at www.biondifuneralhome.com.

Dolores was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Bloomfield for the past 37 years. She was an Administrative Assistant in the Essex County Superior Court.  She assisted several judges, spanning over 40 years. 

 She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore J. Zarro (longtime teacher at Essex Catholic High School in Newark), her daughter Mona Zarro Guerrero, and her grandson, Michael Guerrero. She was also predeceased by her parents, John Salvato, longtime Democratic leader in Newark, and mother, Nancy DiPietro Salvato.  Surviving are her four children, Lisa, Mark, John, (Josephine,) and Craig, (Gina.) She is also survived by her 9 cherished grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom referred to her as “Nonnie Dee.”  She is the sister of Marietta LaCapra, and deceased brothers, Johnny and Vincent.

Dolores enjoyed her weekly dinners with her loving sister, Marietta and brother, Vinny. She loved music, as she had a beautiful voice and could out-dance anyone on the dance floor, at all events.
